Congresses with BAS – our Flatcube, the all-rounder!

We are always pleased when companies that want to make the world a better place use our products during events.

United European Gastroenterology is a non-profit organization, focused on digestive health. They educate and promote research in this field.

For the UEG week, one of their most important congresses during the year, they used our Flatcubes as furniture.

Ana, who is responsible for Events and Congresses, agreed to an interview on their experience.

Hi, Ana.

Could you please introduce yourself and tell us about your organization?

My name is Ana Todorova, I’m part of the Congress & Events Management team at the United European Gastroenterology (UEG) association.

Founded in 1992 United European Gastroenterology (UEG) is the leading non-profit organisation for excellence in digestive health in Europe and beyond with its headquarters in Vienna. We improve the prevention and care of digestive diseases in Europe through providing top tier education, supporting research and advancing clinical standards.

Our offers include UEG Week (our annual congress), online and face-to-face educational experiences, research support, a scientific journal and a range of other activities to ensure continued resources for research into digestive health.

You have a mission – what do you want to achieve through your organization?

Together with our member societies, we provide services for all healthcare professionals and researchers in the broad area of digestive health. Our mission is to advance the standards of care and knowledge across the world and to reduce the burden of digestive diseases. UEG offers numerous activities and initiatives to support this mission.

Why did you decide on Flatcubes? What did you see as an advantage over normal event furniture?

We use the flatcubes since 2019 at our annual congress UEG Week. The reason we chose them is because we wanted to switch to a more sustainable alternative from the conventional seating cubes, which were too bulky to be stored and shipped to different destinations every year. At the same time they were made out of non-recyclable material, making it difficult to dispose of them with care for the environment.

The flatcubes are foldable and therefore, easy to store and ship, which makes them reusable over the years. We save on storage space and environmental footprint. What we also appreciate is the possibility to change the covers and have different motives on them. This way the cubes can look different every year if needed.

In which events would you use Flatcubes?

We mainly use them at UEG Week, a congress that attracts up to 13,000 delegates, who need seating options around the venue, especially in the networking areas where we usually place most of the cubes. In addition to their functionality the flatcubes offer a great opportunity for us and our sponsors to promote our brands and activities during the event.

What was the reason that you decided to work together with BAS?

The reason to work with BAS is because you offer a product, which suits our needs, and which is supported by outstanding customer service. We very much value both aspects.
